Salon Etiquette for clients

This is a guide for clients who are about to visit Clara H Nails, we want to ensure that you have the best possible experience at our nail salon while safeguarding our business practices, routines and health.

Before you arrive

You will be attending a private home salon for your nail service. Please practice common sense courtesy and do not share the private address with others.

Please do not arrive too early, 5 minutes prior to your booking time is acceptable but if you would like to enter any earlier please send us a text to let us know, as we may still be with a client or have a break scheduled.

Hygiene

Wash your hands thoroughly with hand soap provided before we start your appointment.

Please do not arrive sick. If it is hay-fever season, please wear a mask or ask for a mask to be worn throughout the session. Please check salon policies in your booking confirmation for rescheduling or cancellations.

During Your service

1. Please refrain from fidgeting, the movements from shaking/moving your legs translates into a lot of movement in your hands, no matter how carefully still you think you are. If you have to shift yourself into a more comfortable position, please let us know and we will stop mid-service instead of making unnecessary, time consuming mistakes that have to be corrected as a result of the fidgeting.

2. Please refrain from using your mobile phone unless you absolutely have to. Texting is greatly discouraged. Texting leads to stiffening of your hands due to your attention being redirected to your phone, it also causes sudden body movements and makes our job very difficult to complete, this takes up a great deal of extra time and energy on our end. We understand that sometimes you may be expecting work calls, if so please arrange to have ear buds or head phones as a hands-free alternative.

3. We LOVE listening to your adventures and having a chat with you, however please be mindful of being too animated (exaggerated hand gestures, stiffening from excitement) while in conversation. This causes us to slow down a great deal when we have to stop the service, until you’re able to stay still.

4. Once we have prepared your nails for gel application, it cannot come into contact with moisture, oils or lint. Please refrain from touching anything (your face, rummaging around in your handbag, eating a snack, having a drink, leaning your hands on your face or chin, removing or putting on clothing articles etc) This will affect the adhesion and the lifespan of your gels even after you leave the salon, and we will not be responsible for service breakdown in this case. As a guide, once the application has begun, place your hands on the hand/arm rests provided. If you need something, please let us know and we will assist you.

Please read the terms of service before coming in for your appointment.

If you are unwell, such as running a fever/sniffly/coughing or feeling off in any way shape or form, please do not come in for your appointment. If you inform us of this less than 12 hours before your appointment time, your deposit of 50% will be forfeited. As awkward as it is, if you seem visibly unwell on the day of your appointment, we reserve all rights to refuse your service with last minute cancellation policy in place. Please be considerate towards others.

Please do not bring young active children into our premises for their own safety. Our salon is not child-safe for a young one on the move, and there won’t be any free hands to help you mind your child. However, infants are welcome and we are a breastfeeding friendly salon.

cancellation policy:

If you have cancelled less than 24 hours before your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited. Otherwise your deposit will be refunded via your last mode of payment. No-Shows will be charged 100% of the appointment, if not paid, you will be barred from booking future appointments online.

lateness policy:

Common sense courtesy etiquette applies to your booking. Please understand that timeliness is very important. Arriving late usually means you’re now encroaching on another customer’s time and it is unfair to them. If you arrive up to 15 mins late without first informing us, your appointment is automatically cancelled and no-show policy will apply with payment, unless we are able to accommodate your late arrival. Please attempt to inform us well BEFORE your stipulated appointment time that you might run late.
